I think that it’s fairly easy for ABC to choose a Bachelor, but it’s not easy to make America fall in love with him. Case in point: Juan Pablo Galavis, who I’m sure producers will say “seemed like a good idea at the time.” I can say with certainty that The Bachelor’s producers will have no problems with new Bachelor Ben Higgins. As soon as it was announced that Ben would be choosing a wife on national television this season, America went crazy — he’s the hottest thing since sliced bread in Bachelor Nation. Everyone is in love with him, especially Bachelor contestant Caila.
Caila, a software sales representative who lives in Boston had a few sparks with Ben before the first rose ceremony. Both Caila and Ben do the same thing for a living, so they talked a little bit of shop before getting into pleasantries about life and love and more. In the preview for Season 20 of The Bachelor, Caila is seen telling Ben that she’s totally falling in love with him. It’s not hard to believe — they really do seem to have a connection. The only problem? Everyone else is falling in love with Ben, too.
In that very same preview, a whole host of women tell Ben the true depth of their feelings for him, much to Caila’s chagrin. She cries and describes just how hard it is to watch a bunch of other women fall in love with the man that you’re falling in love with. I hear that, Caila! Falling in love is hard enough, so I can’t even imagine what it’s like to make falling in love a competition. But, at least if she makes it to the love stage that means she sticks around for awhile!
Who will eventually win Ben’s heart? We’ll have to watch the rest of his Bachelor season to find out, but I suspect it will be a bumpy ride before then.
