Robbie Amell Gets To Return To 'The Flash'

by Alexis Rhiannon

If I told you that I just found out Robbie Amell will return to Season 2 of The Flash , what would you say? Probably something along the lines of, "That's impossible, because he died in the Season 2 premiere," right? Well, you're right, and great job on being up-to-date on one of the best superhero shows to come along in a while, but I'm also right. Just because your boy Ronnie Raymond sacrificed his own life to protect Central City in Episode 1 of the second season doesn't mean that he's gone for good — in fact, it just clears the way for us to meet the alternate version of Raymond, who's been living on Earth-Two all this time, leading a very different life. And a very evil one, at that. As The Flash's executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly :

We are beyond excited to have Robbie back on The Flash. You can’t keep a good Firestorm down. Only this time, he’s back with a twist, a deadly Earth-Two version of our beloved Ronnie in the form of Deathstorm.

Deathstorm! Yes! I love a good-guy-turned-bad-guy, especially in this case, because the rest of The Flash 's Season 2 villains are already so formidable. It's gonna be a tough road out there for our boy Barry Allen, played by the incomparable Grant Gustin, but it's hard to feel bad for him when we have so many exciting things to look forward to. Especially since we get to meet the Earth-Two version of Raymond's wife Caitlin Snow, who's named Killer Frost and is just the perfect evil counterpart you'd expect for a character like Deathstorm.

And, of course, she's played by the same actress, Danielle Panabaker, so the gift of Earth-Two just keeps giving! Both to these actors, who get to play both the good and evil versions of themselves, and for us as audience members. It's a win-win (win-win-win if you count Earth-Three) situation.
