As any fan of Keeping Up With The Kardashians knows, Khloé Kardashian is incredibly close with younger brother Rob. In fact, the two even live together. On Tuesday, news broke that Rob was rushed to the hospital and has been diagnosed with diabetes. The scary medical emergency comes in the wake of his absence from the spotlight, which is believed to be related to struggles with his weight and mental health. Following the news, Khloé shared a sad selfie on Instagram with a simple caption: "Melancholy."
Considering the sepia-toned selfie had such a concise caption, there's no way to know for sure whether it's a reaction to her brother's health. But it's likely related, based on how close these two are. If by chance it's not actually a response to the Rob news, it's sad that Khloé is feeling so bummed out regardless, especially since she's had a pretty rough year. She's spent plenty of time in the hospital, ever since her ex Lamar Odom was found unconscious in October. Although Odom is reportedly on his way to recovery, that kind of hardship undeniably takes a toll on those who care about him — Khloé included. She's been quite strong these past few months and it's certainly admirable. But at the same time, she can't be expected to always be smiling and happy. Expressing emotions is healthy and her "melancholy" selfie is certainly warranted.
