How To Make A Rice Krispies Treat Pizza

by Kathryn Kattalia

I'm of the belief that foods dressed up as other foods are the most delicious. Case in point? This Rice Krispies treat pizza. Designed by Jessica Siskin, the mastermind artist behind the amazing Mister_Krisp Instagram account, this is probably the most productive thing you could ever do with a box of Rice Krispies other than, you know, eat it.

If you're not familiar with Siskin's work, you definitely should be. The former fashion maven started turning Rice Krispies treats into works of art in 2013, and currently boasts an impressive 35 thousand followers on Instagram (#goals). There's a lot to love about her designs — there's seriously a Rice Krispies treat for everyone — but what impresses me most about Siskin's work is how simple she makes it all look. It kinda makes you think you could muster up a Rice Krispies treat pizza yourself lickity split — oh wait. You totally can.

For this Rice Krispies treat pizza, Siskin followed the basic Rice Krispies treat recipe you grew up loving. Six cups of Rice Krispies cereal, four cups of mini marshmallows, and three tablespoons of butter are combined to form a giant Rice Krispies treat, which is then molded into a pizza shape. Add a few drops of red food coloring to frosting to make "sauce," sprinkle on some shredded coconut "cheese," and voila! Your pizza is ready. If you prefer a meat lover's pizza over a plain pie, go ahead and throw on some licorice "pepperoni" pieces. That's it. You're done. You made a pizza — out of Rice Krispies. You, my friend, are a genius.

Pizza's not really your thing? I'll withhold my judgement, and instead direct you to some of the other incredible creations Siskin has whipped up. From emojis to turkey dinners to a glorious Rice Krispies portrait of Britney Spears, there is nothing that can't be molded from that magical combination of cereal, marshmallows, and butter. Use her as inspiration for your own Rice Krispies creation, or submit your special order on Siskin's website. If you can dream it, she can make it. And if you are making your own, be sure to snap a pic. For every treat shared with the hashtag #Treats4Toys, Rice Krispies will give a gift to Toys for Tots.

In the meantime, watch as Siskin shows how to make a Rice Krispies treat pizza in our video below. It's so simple, you'll wonder why you didn't think of it first.
