In retrospect, 2015 was an emotional rollercoaster for fans of One Direction. Zayn Malik left the band in March, but the rest of the guys soldiered on without him. Although 1D released Made In The A.M. in November, they revealed this would be their last album before taking an extended hiatus in March 2016. Essentially Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan will be taking time to focus on personal projects. As far as what those projects may be, Styles may have an acting career on the horizon. Or at least Lea Michele hopes so! According to a recent interview with InStyle, Michele is rooting for Styles to star on Scream Queens . Before fans get overly excited, here's exactly what she said,
I also heard a rumor that [Ryan Murphy] may, I don’t know if this is true, but he said at a press thing recently that he is talking to a male pop star to come for next year. If it’s Harry Styles, everybody better calm down. I love One Direction. Everybody knows this. I’m also thinking that he should be in the Wicked movie. He’s our modern day Mick Jagger.
OK, so Styles starring on Scream Queens Season 2 is just a fantasy in Michele's head. But then again, the Glee alum is pretty close with creator Ryan Murphy — after all, they've worked on two shows together at this point. Don't you think he'd want to make Michele happy? While there still hasn't been confirmation that the Fox show is actually getting another season, with a Golden Globe nom under their belts, I'd say it's pretty likely. After all, the Season 1 finale left fans with so many unanswered questions.
Now back to those Harry Styles rumors! Considering Nick Jonas absolutely nailed his role as Boone, it would be awesome to see another boy-bander star on the hilarious sitcom. Plus, given the upcoming One Direction hiatus, Styles would have some free time in his schedule. So much free time, in fact, that he'll finally have a chance to get a haircut (despite fans' dismay).
Although 1D plans to promote their album through February, the guys will officially be free after that. As for how he'll be spending that hiatus, Styles may be working on a solo album. The Sun reported that he's actually recorded 20 tracks already. If most of the recordings are complete, that does leave time for an acting gig or two. Making this all the more likely, Lance Bass reportedly announced Styles is moving to Hollywood in 2016. (Am I the only one who didn't know Bass and Styles were friends?) Another close source told E! News that Styles receives acting offers all the time, explaining,
Harry is being offered acting stuff, but he hasn't accepted anything yet. He is not openly looking for stuff either but is open to offers.
Of course, this could just be a rumor, but if the singer is moving to LA and contemplating acting roles, Scream Queens would be a perfect fit. Considering Murphy got Lady Gaga to star on American Horror Story , he does have a history of working with pop stars and I imagine he could convince the 1D singer to get on board.
If Styles does join the Scream Queens cast, I'll totally pull a Chanel. (But it'll be screams of joy, of course!)
