'Bachelorette' Kaitlyn Shares Engagement Photos
As much as we love The Bachelor and The Bachelorette for being amazing car crash television, you have to admit that the winning couples don't necessarily have the best track records when it comes to marriage longevity — or even making it down the aisle to begin with. I guess that's what happens when you meet someone on reality TV and share only a few hours with them before deciding to get engaged. I tend to keep my expectations low when tuning in, but I have to say that even I had high hopes when Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe chose Shawn Booth to be her lawfully wedded husband ... or at least, her fiancé for as long as the promotional interviews and photo spreads lasted. They seem to work really well together, and like they could just go the distance. And after seeing Bristowe and Booth's engagement photos on Instagram, I can't help but hope that this wedding actually takes place — sooner rather than later.
In her interview with Brides magazine, which originally posted the photos, Bristowe reiterated her love for Booth and her faith in their relationship, saying, "I truly believe we were meant to be together. He is my type to a T. I didn't even know I had a type until I met Shawn. Everyone asked us how it was going to be when the fancy extravagant dates were over and the cameras were off, and we both agreed that we couldn't wait for that. It has only gotten better."
You have to admit that they make an incredibly attractive couple, though I feel like their bond goes much deeper than that. Obviously, they think so as well, since they're planning to get married and all. The engagement photos feature the happy couple drinking champagne at a picnic, posing in wedding attire, and kissing in the back of a pickup truck at a farm. In other words, it's so perfectly them, and really shows how happy they seem to be together.
Bristowe and booth haven't set a wedding date just yet, but don't worry — they plan to start just after the new year. Bristowe has said that her fiance plans to be "heavily involved" in the planning. It remains to be seen whether that will be a blessing or a curse, but is sure to be another bonding experience for the relatively new couple. Let's just hope that they stay together and manage to exchange vows, and that those vows survive the test of time to create a successful Bachelor marriage.
