This is one rumor that will not only make Friends fans happy, but will also send them into a tizzy. According to a report from Star (via Woman's Day), Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry are dating. Of course, this is coming from a tabloid that isn't the most reliable source, but here's hoping it's true. Can you imagine Monica Geller and Chandler Bing as a real-life couple? *Sigh* It's glorious.
Anyways, reportedly after Cox split from fiancé Johnny McDaid, she found some solace with Perry. A source told Star, "It’s no surprise that Matthew was one of the first people Courteney called when she ended the engagement. They’ve leaned on each other before, during her infertility struggle and his battle with addiction." The anonymous insider also said, "Matthew invited her over to talk one night, and they ended up hooking up!" Hmm... just like Monica and Chandler did in London? This sounds like déjà vu to me.
It seems, you know if any of this is even real, that they are taking things slow. The source added, "There isn’t any pressure to put a label on it yet, but they’re excited to see where this might go." I'm just excited to know if this is true and whether or not Friends fans will get a real-life Monica and Chandler wedding.
Whatever the case, if Cox and Perry are dating for real, then here's some relationship advice they should take from Monica and Chandler, because dating in Hollywood can be hard.
Embrace One Another's Quirks
Monica was obsessed with cleaning and Chandler couldn't help but use humor as a defense mechanism. Their quirks are what made them love one another even more.
Accept Each Other Wholeheartedly
For a relationship to work, you need to accept the other person flaws and all. Just like Chandler did when Monica accidentally chopped off his toe, or when Monica thought Chandler liked shark porn.
Encourage One Another To Follow Your Dreams
They always encouraged each other to go after their dreams — no matter how hard or difficult it was. Like when Chandler quit his job and went into advertising or when Monica stayed behind in New York to become a successful chef, while Chandler went to Oklahoma.
Support Each Other Through The Good & The Bad
Remember Chandler and Monica's infertility struggles? What about the charade surrounding the adoption of their twins? Or, when it was extremely hard to say goodbye to their apartment? They got through it all with love and support.
You Can Learn How To Have Great Sex
If Cox and Perry aren't compatible in the bedroom, don't fret, because it can be taught. I mean, Monica taught Chandler how to have great sex with Kathy, so yeah.
It's OK If Only One Of You Is A Great Dancer
Don't get jealous, because dancing is just a form of expression — even if you "dance" like Chandler.
Most Importantly, Have Fun & Laugh
If you can't laugh, especially with each other, what's the point?
Monica and Chandler really are the ideal couple — and so are Cox and Perry. *fingers crossed*
