Tina Fey's Best Faces In 'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot'
It's always great when Tina Fey makes a new movie because, well, Tina Fey is great and more opportunities to see her being great is everything. In the span of her career, she's evolved from our favorite "Weekend Update" anchor to a full-fledged movie star. She's an amazing talent, and it's exciting to see her taking on interesting projects. Her new film, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, is no exception. In the first Whiskey Tango Foxtrot trailer, we see Fey taking on one of her meatiest roles yet, a journalist embedded with the U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
As much fun as it is to see Fey play lovable goofballs in movies like Sisters and Baby Mama, it's cool to see her in a more serious role. The film, which also stars Margot Robbie, Martin Freeman, and Billy Bob Thornton, follows Fey's character as she goes to Afghanistan to report on the war and the other journalists and troops that she meets along the way. While it is definitely a comedy, the movie looks like it will have a serious undertone that we don't normally see in Fey's movies.
The whole trailer is awesome and filled with Fey, but some moments really stood out. Here are the seven best, quintessentially Tina Fey moments.
1. The Quietly Judging You Face
This face can be seen all the way back in Fey's Saturday Night Live days. It's simple and yet it says so much.
2. The "Really?" Face
I'm 99 percent sure she makes this face in Mean Girls too, and she definitely makes it as Liz Lemon on 30 Rock. It's fantastic.
3. The Shooting An Automatic Weapon Face
This is a new one. Fey has only ever done one movie that had much in the way of action (Date Night). It's kind of awesome to see this, not gonna lie.
4. The "Yikes" Face
Subtlety is key with this one. It tells us that whatever is going is not great. It also harkens back to some looks Liz Lemon gave.
5. The Genuine Smile
Fey has such a wonderful smile. It takes up her whole face, and it's kind of contagious. When Fey smiles, everyone smiles.
6. The "OMG" Face
This face is sheer surprise — another classic Liz Lemon style expression. Also, how dope does she look in that army gear?
7. The Movie Star Face
I mean, what a babe. She's standing there like a boss. She is a bonafide movie star and she knows it. She's going to take a minute and enjoy it, and she deserves to.
