How Does 1D Feel About The Hiatus?
Directioners did a lot of ugly crying on Sunday evening as One Direction gave their final pre-hiatus performance on X Factor UK. Say it isn't so! The group came together on the popular British reality show in 2010, so it was rather fitting for them to have their last hurrah during its Series 12 finale. But, as the guys have assured fans time and time again since their hiatus was first announced in August, this isn't "goodbye forever" — it's just "goodbye for a little while." After they've all had a chance to rest up and pursue other interests, they've pledged to return to the pop music scene. (I'm a little skeptical about that, but we'll see what happens.) Right now, however, I think it's safe to say that making a comeback is the last thing on their minds.
Yes, during One Direction's "History" performance on X Factor UK, all four members — Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson — looked beyond ready to hang up their microphones and take a well-deserved nap. And who can blame them? They've basically been working non-stop for five years straight; they need a break! As I watched the fellas sing their hearts out, I thought to myself: "I wonder what's going through their heads right now?" Here are a few (totally hypothetical) possibilities:
"Just one more performance, Styles, and you'll finally be able to pursue your lifelong dream of making men's suits out of the hideous sofas you find in abandoned storage units!"
That suit is a lot of look, I admit... but I don't hate it? Harry might be onto something here.
"Big Payno in the hoooooouse! But seriously, remember how I'm a DJ?"
I didn't remember, actually. But apparently, we could be hearing more remixes from DJ Payno during 1D's hiatus. Get excited!
"It's almost over! I'm so happy, I could cry. P.S. Listen to how good I sound!"
Niall's voice has come a looong way in five years, that's for sure.
"Get. Me. Outta here."
The door's right over there, Louis! You don't even have to come back if you don't want to. (Just kidding. Well, sort of.)
"Let's go watch Netflix!!"
Sounds like a solid plan to me.
Best wishes, One Direction! Hopefully, the four of you will be back together again soon.
