Taylor's Christmas-Themed Birthday Was Everything
Despite Taylor Swift's insistence that her 26th birthday would be a "quiet one this year," the pop icon did it up big on Dec. 13. At a winter "Wonderland"-themed party thrown by music producer and Apple executive Jimmy Iovine — a celebratory bash that included everything from a giant ski slope to a real-life Santa and Mrs. Claus — Taylor Swift's Christmas-themed birthday party looked like something straight out of a holiday movie. Specifically, like that scene from Elf in which Buddy spends all night decorating the department store to resemble the North Pole.
Though I unfortunately did not get to witness this beyond epic birthday bash with my own eyes — instead, I was forced to live vicariously through the Instagram photos and Twitter videos of those more lucky than I — it's pretty much safe to say that Swift's holiday birthday party was the event of the year (or at least the holiday season). Why? Sure, because it featured penguins and Nutcrackers and Andrea Swift and Calvin Harris and Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton (yeah, they were there), but also because it was a holiday party combined with a birthday party for both T. Swift and Iovine's daughter, Jessica. And when you have that many celebrations in one, things are bound to be cray.
Let's look at the evidence.
First of all, Jimmy Iovine's son was adopted by his new parents, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris
And he gave us a panoramic view of the whole shindig, complete with Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" playing in the background
(The party was held at Jimmy Iovine's Malibu estate. BRB, moving in.)
THERE WERE REAL-LIFE PENGUINS
Taylor Swift & Calvin Harris posed with Santa and Mrs. Claus
And did all other kinds of epic holiday things, as seen in this fan-collaged photo
MERRY SWIFTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.
Happy 26th birthday, Taylor Swift!
