The Velvet Blazer Is The Style Upgrade You Need
The blazer is pretty much my go-to item for when I've got to somehow look professional (cause cutoff denim shorts and a t-shirt can be worn to work, by the way). But if you're looking for an upgrade from the classic, look no further than the velvet blazer, which takes the timeless piece and elevates it to new heights. After all, stars like Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne have both been spotted rocking this trend.
Luckily, I work in an office that has a pretty lax dress code. Jeans are always okay, and are pretty much the norm for everyone Monday through Thursday. Tee shirts? Sandals? Yep and yep. But when I did work in an environment with stricter dressing rules, blazers were not only preferred, but crucial. They have a way of dressing everything up, whether that be a form-fitting midi dress, or an already polished white button up and a pair of pumps.
And for blazers, fit is everything. A well-tailored blazer is everything, but it does come with a price tag. So if you're like me, and can't quite afford the perfect fit yet, go with a blazer with a different color or material. Don't get me wrong, black is always my go-to, but when you want a little extra detail, the right color might just be the perfect switch. But in this case, we're talking material: Velvet.
Even Kendall Jenner is loving velvet in her Balmain blazer. If you're looking to add a little pizzazz to your classic blazer, look no further than this luxe fabric.
