Congrats to funny lady Amy Schumer. The actress and comedian was nominated for a 2016 Golden Globe for her work in the film Trainwreck. Schumer put it all out there in the lead role of a working girl who isn't looking for love but ends up finding it. While she has been on the scene and making people laugh so hard their stomachs hurt for years, Schumer's star ascended to spectacular heights in 2015 and she was snarkily stoked about her nom. Of course she turned up on red carpets and at events this past year looking sexy, slinky, and stylish.
So what will Amy Schumer wear to the 2016 Golden Globes?
I am predicting it will be colorful, clingy and cleavage-y, since Schumer like to show off her curves. Who could blame her? She's got 'em, so she flaunts 'em. More power to her for embracing them.
In order to make as accurate and as honest of a prediction about Schumer's Golden Globes gown as possible, let's review what she wore in 2015 to get a sense of her signatures.
We saw Schumer grace many magazine covers, like her Princess Leia homage on GQ. She posed in an icy blue dress on the cover of Glamour . Full disclosure: I admit I keep that cover on my fridge because of the "Bow Down, It's Amy" tag because DUH!
But how about Schumer's red carpet outfits? Those were way memorable.
She is often leggy. Here, she opts for a clingy, long-sleeved, white mini. She likes showing off her legs.
The comedienne is not afraid of a bright pop of color, like this tomato red dress in a midi length.
Long-sleeved and leggy has been a bit of a repeat style for her in 2015. Be it in red...
... or in white.
She likes fitted frocks and leg-baring hems, as we've established. I am starting to think she might go with a mini, even though the Globes are a super fancy event.
Schumer is always down to put her cleavage on display with V-cut bodices.
This long, black slip dress is simple but she is still sultry.
She is all about those curve-hugging frocks and color column dresses. Lots of color!
Schumer also prefers a straight, feminine, and not-too-frilly look.
Color is her friend, like this cornflower blue shift.
We've seen this cut before!
A little sideboob action never hurt anyone.
Even when Schumer sticks with her favored column cut, she does have a flair for detail, like a slit or a gold belt.
While color has been a prominent element of many of her red carpet ensembles, Schumer also veers towards the dark side in all the right ways.
While the pattern is bold, this dress lives in four of her comfort zones: the deep V, long sleeves, clingy, and short.
So sexy and shiny in a slip dress.
After processing all of these Amy Schumer red carpet outfits, I am going to predict that the actress rocks a long, column gown in a clingy fabric, with a deep V, and long sleeves. While she does favor short hems, the Globes are black tie and length is critical, so she'll have to adjust there and that shouldn't be a problem.
I am confident she'll bring the sex appeal by opting for a curve-hugging, cleavage-showing dress with a peek-a-boo slit.
