'KUWTK' Revisits Brody's Selfie Debacle
Forever the channel that continues to give us what we did not know we wanted, E! aired a 30-minute tribute to the Kardashian-Jenner family’s past vacations Tuesday night. G’bless. Keeping Up: Kardashians Vacations was a trip down KUWTK trip memory lane, and it was a trip I was happy to take. Especially when it revisited a specific plot line from Season 9’s Thailand excursion. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians vaycay special would not be complete if it omitted quite possibly one of the very best moments from the entire series: Brody’s “half chub” heard round the world.
A quick recap for those who aren't familiar with/don't remember this particular Season 9 storyline: Over the course of the Kardashian-Jenner family’s stay in Thailand, Kim snapped approximately seven billion photographs of herself for to-be-released selfie book, Selfish. One of the impromptu selfie photo shoots involved a wet, see-through top. Brody accidentally walked in on his then-stepsister during the see-through top impromptu selfie photo shoot. He would later joke with his family that he got a “half chub.” And then, because the Kardashian-Jenners are reality TV heroes, did not let the "half chub" comment/incident go. G'BLESS.
I know the episodes aired just last year, but I was raring to revisit those scenes. For starters, my weak sauce memory somehow forgot about this beautiful exchange:
BRODY: “I didn’t realize that I would open this one door and see Kim taking photos of herself in some white, full like, wet, like— it was a see-through white. It was a little EGHHHH.”
KRIS: “She’s doing a selfie book right now."
“She’s doing a selfie book right now” might be one of my favorite responses to anything ever. I think it could really work as a catch-all response:
"Where's Tara? We've been waiting in front of this restaurant for an hour."
"She's doing a selfie book right now."
Or:
"Man, that Amanda is such a nice person."
"She's doing a selfie book right now."
Or:
"Did you see that jackhole cut me off? Wait, was that my fault?"
"She's doing a selfie book right now."
Or:
"Your haircut looks great!"
"She's doing a selfie book right now."
Or:
"Aw gross, the dog took a number two right in the middle of the carpet."
"She's doing a selfie book right now."
See? When taken out of context, it both make zero sense and all of the sense. The possibilities truly are endless.
