Who Was San Bernardino Victim Harry Bowman?

by Claire Elizabeth Felter

Law enforcement officials announced Thursday evening the names of the 14 men and women killed in Wednesday's mass shooting at San Bernardino's Inland Regional Center. Harry Bowman, one of the San Bernardino shooting victims identified by authorities, was a 46-year-old man from Upland, California, and a father of two. Bill Kraft, one of Bowman's family members, stated that Bowman loved his two daughters, who are 11 and 15 years old. Kraft told reporters:

Death at its best is hard to take. This type of death is extremely hard to take, especially when you have young children. There is no way you are going to make them understand.

Bowman's mother told the Los Angeles Times that her son grew up in York, Pennsylvania, where she still lives, and that he moved to California more than 15 years ago for work.

Bowman's neighbors at the Stoneridge Apartment Homes in Upland did not know much about Bowman's personal life. Dr. Guillermo Saenz, who lived across the hall from Bowman, told the Times that he knew the man had at least one daughter, because he had seen Bowman teaching her how to swim at the complex's pool.

Our condolences are with Bowman's family and loved ones.

This is a developing story.
