Who Is 'RHOBH' Kathryn Edwards' Husband?

by Allyson Koerner

On Tuesday, Dec. 1 Bravo's hit reality series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills returns for its sixth season, which means fans will finally get to see some of their favorite Bravolebrities back in action, in addition to a few new faces. Oh yeah, there will also be even more drama, which is always a given when it comes to the franchise. Former model Kathryn Edwards will appear as a regular cast member this season and so will her husband. So, just who is Kathryn's husband Donnie Edwards?

As Kathryn proudly touted in the Season 6 trailer, Donnie is nine years younger than her, but there is so much more to her husband than that. Donnie is a former NFL player who played for both the San Diego Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was an NFL linebacker for 14 years and was drafted in 1996 by Kansas City. Before he joined the big leagues, Donnie attended UCLA, where he also played football. According to a 1995 news article from the Los Angeles Times, it doesn't look like Donnie's entire time at UCLA was without fault. Apparently, he made headlines for a one-game suspension as the result of receiving $150 worth of groceries from a sports agent and violating NCAA rules. At the time of the incident, Donnie claimed that he didn't knowingly break the rules.

Now that he's a retired NFL player, Donnie dedicates most of his time to charity, including the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation, which hits close to home for him. In 2004 he said, "Having grown up in San Diego's foster care system, I understand the importance of raising awareness, as well as funds, to help children in our community who are suffering from abuse and neglect." He added, "It is important that each of us invest in providing a brighter future for San Diego's most vulnerable — our children."

When he isn't busy giving back to others, it's clear Donnie loves spending time with Kathryn. Just check out some of their Instagram photos:

Even though Donnie's experienced in battling it out on the football field, we'll have to see if he can handle all the madness RHOBH throws his way.
