Honestly, I had to stop myself from freaking out when I first read this story: Apparently, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are set to perform at the Grammys when they air later this month, on Jan. 26.
Paul McCartney! Ringo Starr! Together again! Who cares if it's at the Grammys, and we all have to actually watch them now — it's Paul and Ringo, the walrus and the drummer! THIS IS EVERYTHING.
McCartney is actually a nominee this year, if you're not aware — the legendary rocker was nominated for his collaboration with the surviving members of Nirvana, "Cut Me Some Slack," in the Best Rock Song category. As for Ringo, well, he's kept busy being the coolest Beatle there is.
According to USA Today, the announcement of McCartney and Starr's involvement in the event comes in addition to confirmation that other performers like John Legend, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Sara Bareilles, and this year's MusiCares Person of the Year, Carole King, are all set to perform as well. Which, yes, is all great, but PAUL MCCARTNEY AND RINGO STARR IS BETTER.
Beatles listening session now, anyone?
Set your DVRs accordingly — the Grammys will air on CBS at 8 p.m. ET, Jan. 26.
