Ashlee's Engaged to The Child of an Icon

If you had told me that one day the families of Ross and Simpson would be reunited I'd have never believed you. But 2014 has proven that anything is possible with the engagement of Ashlee Simpson to Evan Ross, her boyfriend of some unknown amount of time, & soon-to-be star of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts I & II. As in, the son of Diana Ross. Yes, that Diana Ross.

"My baby love and I are ENGAGED!!! Hallelujah Hawaii !!!!!" Simpson tweeted Monday afternoon from Hawaii. Turns out her baby love (something tells us she took that inspiration from his mother's song) has been anticipating their wedded bliss for awhile now. During an interview at The Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiere back in November, Ross did not mince words regarding his feelings towards the younger Simpson sister, declaring "Yeah, she's the one." He even went so far as to see he could "foresee" wedding bells in their future.

Though the couple has only been publicly linked since July, both are publicly very vocal about their commitment to one another. "I'm so in love and we've got amazing things going on," he continued. "And we inspire each other."

No word yet on what the divine Ms. Ross has to say about the impending nuptials of her youngest son, but here's hoping she'll find a way to sing about it.
