What C-3PO & R2-D2 Can Teach 'Star Wars' New Droid

The internet, and the world in general, cannot wait for the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens . Luckily, none of us will have to wait much longer, with the movie finally coming out on Dec. 18. But in the meantime, anything we can find out about the movie's new characters is a real bonus. And the latest addition to the franchise's growing empire is a new O2 commercial featuring C-3PO and R2-D2 alongside BB-8, the new addition to the Star Wars family.

Already featured in several of her own memes (Yes! BB-8 is female!), BB-8 rolls on to the scene, finally sharing some screen time with Star Wars stalwarts C-3PO and R2-D2 (boy, am I glad that they're back). The original droids are alone in the desert, when they come across new droid BB-8, and are totally happy to see her. BB-8 is a cute robot, and it's exciting to see all the droids team up. So what could originals R2-D2 and C-3PO teach BB-8? Are there any important lessons they can share with her as she begins her Star Wars journey? Here are a few suggestions.

1. Own Your Sound

Whatever you sound like, even if it's a bit different to everyone else, own it. Be true to yourself.

2. Stick Up For People

C-3PO and R2-D2 always look out for others, and help whenever they can. Whether it's a friend or a kind stranger, they're always ready to jump into the action, even if it puts them in the way of danger.

3. Keep Going, Even When Life Is Hard

Life isn't always easy. While C-3PO often muses on this point, understanding the darkness that often consumes life, he never gives up, which makes him an amazing role model.

4. Communication Is Key

C-3PO and R2-D2 put themselves out there to chat to the people they meet. C-3PO is even a protocol droid, fluent in over six million forms of communication. Impressive! This could be an important lesson for any new droid.

5. Even Droids Can Dance

OK, so there might not be much dancing in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, necessarily. But if there is, C-3PO is sure to teach BB-8 a move or two.

6. Fame Might Get A Bit Overwhelming

C-3PO and R2-D2 have appeared in so many shows, photo shoots, and parodies since Star Wars brought them to fame. BB-8 is the new robot on the block, and sure to garner some famous fans. Maybe she will even get to meet Amy Schumer?!

7. People Will Dress Up As You

Whether it's a Halloween costume, a handbag, a swimsuit, or a sweet dress, your fans will want to emulate your style. Enjoy it, BB-8!

8. Friends Are Important

Stick by the people you care about, and do everything you can to protect them. Pretty simple really.

9. Do Your Thing!

Haters are always going to hate, especially when Star Wars is involved. But BB-8 should just rise above the haters and continue being awesome, living life, and rolling like a pro!
