Pantsuits and jumpsuits have pretty much established themselves as one of the biggest trends of Fall 2015. Kourtney Kardashian wore a cream pantsuit to the Baby2Baby Gala this weekend and the reality star seems to understand that the success (or failure) of a pantsuit resides in how its styled, along with careful consideration of the color, the cut, the length of the pants, and the accessories with which you wear it.
She totally offered a sexy and very Kardashian take on the trend. That is, I could totally see her little sister Khloe wanting to wear this.
The mother of three's mega long and shiny black locks hung super straight and framed her face, providing a contrast to the light color of her pantsuit. The reality star opted to forego a shirt or a cami under the blazer, which allowed for instant sexiness, thanks to the fact that she showed just a hint of skin.
She added pointy, silver-tipped heels to complete the look. Pantsuits (and jumpsuits) are essentially menswear and Kardashian excelled at feminizing her look. Jennifer Aniston rocked the jumpsuit look in late summer and totally owned it, thanks to the details. Kardashian didn't gloss over details, either, when getting dressed for this event.
Let's look at her bone-hued pantsuit from all possible angles.
Kardashian opted for a trim and fitted shape. The blazer wasn't oversized or baggy. It dipped low enough to show cleavage and to allow her to ditch a shirt without exposing too much skin.
The slim, tapered leg was also sexy. The pants almost resembled a skinny jean.
The tuxedo pant leg had the requisite satin stripe down the side. The length was short enough aka "just right," since it showed off her metallic pumps.
Kardashian's hair was so glossy and goddess-like. It was a gorgeous contrast to her light outfit.
The reality star showed off just a modest amount of cleavage. It was a perfect flash.
Her bronzed skin also glowed. She went with dark-rimmed eyes and nude, glossed lips and it was all she needed to keep this look polished and "profesh."
She didn't need to pile on gobs of necklaces, since the lapels of her blazer were pointed and added another visual.
If you are iffy about the pantsuit trend, you might want to follow Kourtney Kardashian's lead from the Baby2Baby event. It was feminine and it looked amazing on her. She's super petite, so it was wise to go with something fitted so that it didn't swallow her whole. You want to be careful not to go too baggy. A wide leg is fine, but it has to be tailored and balanced against the rest of the silhouette.
Also, the cream color was a smart choice, since black or a dark color might have felt a bit too serious.
Kudos to Kardashian for her sexy and glam take on the ever-present pantsuit.
