Get The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Makeup
Hold onto your granny panties: the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was last night, and at long last we've gotten a glimpse of the makeup at this year's show: it's pink and glowy and guaranteed to be stunning on anyone. As in previous shows, the emphasis lies on the models' natural beauty — which, of course, they have in spades, since their magnificent bone structure did help land them spot in one of the most competitive castings in the industry. It's all about glowing skin, subtle smoky eyes, false lashes, bronzer, and, this year, pink lips.
I'm always intrigued by the VS Fashion Show. Although most of us aren't going to be rocking ultra glam lingerie on a day-to-day basis (and after all, isn't that kind of the point?), the makeup and hair at the show are a huge inspiration for many women — just typing in "Victoria's Secret Makeup" in YouTube's search bar pulls over five hundred thousand results — and I've got to admit that the backstage stylists and makeup artists deserve to be lauded for their work on the show. The makeup for the 2015 show was all pink and glowy, featuring strong brows and highlighted and bronzed (but not overly contoured) skin. Here's Kendall Jenner modeling the look backstage at Tuesday's taping:
I will recreate the hair and makeup at this year's show because it's a great look. So, without further ado, let's have at it! Here are all the products you need.
1. The Hair: Tousled Waves
The waves this year appear more relaxed than they have in previous years, but some things remain the same: volume at the crown and long, long, long hair. (Extensions, anyone?)
2. The Skin: Dewy, Sheer Coverage
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, $45.00, nars.com
You'll want a foundation that looks like skin, only better.
3. The Cheeks: Warmed With Bronzer
Benefit Hoola Bronzer, $28.00, sephora.com
Applied properly, bronzer gives the appearance of skin kissed by the sun. Applied improperly, it makes you look dirty. I know this because from personal experience.
4. The Cheeks: Natural Blush
Becca Mineral Blush in Flowerchild, $32.00, sephora.com
A peachy gold blush looks natural and pretty, which is pretty much Victoria's Secret's thesis statement.
5. The Cheekbones and Nose: Soft Highlight
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, $38.00, sephora.com
Highlight down the bridge of your nose and the top of your cheeks like the models did.
6. The Eyes: Natural Smokey
Urban Decay Naked Palette, $54.00, urbandecay.com
The Naked Palettes are super versatile, and perfectly suited to creating a subtle smokey eye.
7. The Lips: Victoria's Secret Pink
MAC Chatterbox, $17.00, mac.com
Taylor Hill shows how gorgeous a pink lip is against all that glowing skin.
