Flower power! With long, bleached blonde, and faux dreads piled atop her head, Miley Cyrus wore a flowery, mermaid outfit of a different sort to the LGBT Center's 46th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards in Los Angeles this weekend. The wild child songstress made a fashion splash at the event when she donned a hot pink ensemble that had a floral, bikini-like top and a pleated, flowing bottom. The top of the outfit was essentially comprised of garden-like blooms.
Cyrus was a hot pink wearing' mermaid of sorts who even carried a seashell-shaped bag. Her eye-catching outfit was a custom creation, crafted by designer Ulyana Sergeenko.
The singer and actress also matched her bright pink lip gloss to her dress, which also had blingy straps on the bodice. It was a lot of look, yes. But as usual, Cyrus looked flawless.
It was certainly a tropical look that I'm not used to seeing in the cool, autumn months, but that somehow made it even more exciting.
Fashion rules are not something that Cyrus, who has stepped up her advocacy for animals and for at-risk youth this year, really adheres to or follows. She's a rebel who wears whatever she wants, when she wants, and where she wants.
The fake dreads were a reprisal of her 2015 VMAs look, which justifiably angered quite a few people due to the appropriative nature of the hairstyle. While I certainly hope Cyrus learns more about appropriation before rocking this hair look again, the outfit itself (apart from the hair) is still glam.
Cyrus was thinking pink. Her look was super summery so it wasn't exactly seasonal. Yet it didn't feel too out there, either. Anything goes in L.A. and in her orbit.
Here's a closer look at the sprinkle of flowers, the bling, and the pleats aka "the details."
Flower power indeed! The dress was so animated, thanks to the color and the shape. It came to life on her frame.
Cyrus appeared to be happy wearing this piece, as evidenced by her megawatt smile, which was an intangible accessory.
More bling!
The outfit had a belly dancer vibe, too.
The skirt was vertically ombre.
Her super long dreads tumbled all the way down her back.
Cyrus posed with Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda at the event. What a fabulous and trailblazing trio right there!
The outfit made use of several different variations of the color pink, which you can clearly see from this vantage point.
Her shell-shaped clutch was iridescent and appeared multi-colored when catching the light.
Want this dress now? Yes, me too.
