A quarter-century after the film swept theaters, a Home Alone picture book is finally out, and just in time for the holidays. This season, families across the country can celebrate 25 years of the Sticky Bandits Marv and Harry, and — of course — Kevin McAllister.
Full of lush, retro-chic illustrations, Home Alone: The Classic Illustrated Storybook tells the story we all know and love. Through a chain of unfortunate events, 8-year-old Kevin gets left at home while the rest of his extended family takes a Christmas vacation to Paris. After he overhears Harry and Marv planning a home break-in, Kevin rigs the entire house with inventive booby traps to protect his family's property.
Of course, we all know that things turn out all right for Kevin in the end — so all right, in fact, that the next Christmas finds him flying to New York while the rest of his family holidays in Miami. There's no word yet as to whether or not Home Alone 2: Lost in New York will get its own 25th anniversary picture book in 2017, but I've got my fingers crossed.

Now you have to stockpile copies for all of the children in your lives — and one for you, too, of course. You can read it while you sit at home eating junk and watching rubbish. (You better come out and stop me!)
