Get J. Law's Exact Dior Lipstick

by Amy Sciarretto

A dusty yet rosy berry lipstick is the perfect shade to carry you through the rest of the fall and into the holiday season and beyond. Jennifer Lawrence's Hunger Games premiere look drew tons of attention, thanks to her sideboob-showing, Dior Haute Couture dress and her shaggy platinum lob. But I was totally loving her lip look, which was also courtesy of Dior. The right berry shade can add an instant dose of glam whether you're rocking athleisure or when you want to keep the rest of your face bare during colder months.

At the London premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, J. Law rocked the most beautiful, berry-ish hue on her lips. Ladies of all skintones can totally pull this color off and the intensity can be dialed up or down, depending on how many coats you slick across your pout.

Given Lawrence's porcelain skin and white hot hair, her lipstick lit up her entire face.

So what shade was it and where can you get it?

It was Rouge Dior Lipstick #434 Brun Smarcande. It's available at fine department stores and online, so you can nab a tube and replicate the J. Law lip look to your heart's content. ($35, nordstrom.com)

In a press release, makeup artist Jillian Dempsey said she wanted the actress' makeup "to have a demure, glamorous vibe for the red carpet. The Dior dress she was wearing was rich, and made for a sexy shot from the side, so we felt her makeup look should have the same feeling."

Mission unquestionably accomplished.

Dempsey continued, "The look was really all about that lip, and I chose the unique color, that I've never used on her before, as I wanted to pick up the carmel flecks in the dress." Ah, so this was Lawrence's first time rocking this shade and she nailed it.

I love that Lawrence's pucker was blotted and not perfectly or overly lined. There were no points, thankfully. There was a balance of softness and drama with her lip look. The color certainly picked up those flecks in the black dress, as well.

Lawrence's stained lips made her look so healthy and bright.

If you don't do reds and aren't really a fan of browns, which can appear muddy, this rosy but caramel-y shade truly is your best bet. The color brightened up Lawrence's whole face and showed us just how transformative the right shade of lipstick can be.
