The VS Fashion Show Lineup Has Changed

In a series of last minute events, British songstress Ellie Goulding is set to replace Rihanna at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which tapes next week, according to PEOPLE. A source told the publication that Rihanna unexpectedly cancelled her performance. It's rumored that she did so in order to have more time to work on her long-awaited album, Anti , WWD reports. While there's no doubt Rihanna slayed her 2012 performance at the same event, Goulding, who has an album coming out this Friday, will no doubt also raise the roof at the highly anticipated event. Bustle has reached out to Victoria's Secret for comment and has not heard back as of press time.

If you don't already know, the Victoria's Secret Fashion show is an annual event that features top models wearing gorgeous lingerie creations. The event is taped a few weeks in advance of it's domestic broadcast on network television, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 8. at 10/9c p.m. this year But it's not all frolicking models and lust-worthy lingerie — the show also always features a few performances from popular musicians, who walk the runway alongside the models.

With Goulding's latest single "On My Mind" racing up the charts, there's no doubt she'd be a great addition to the lineup, which also includes The Weeknd and Selena Gomez. All three artists are new to the VS runway, and since there are some exciting new Angels hitting the stage this year, including VS newbies Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, there's no doubt it will be a fresh, exciting show.

Goudling is an obvious choice for the show, given how talented and drop-dead-gorgeous she is. Being a VS Fashion Show fan, I'm beyond excited to hear what she'll perform for the event. Maybe her Fifty Shades of Grey single, "Love Me Like You Do," or maybe even a song off her new album?

Alas, we still have awhile until the show airs on Dec. 8. To pass the time, let's look back at some of Goulding's best performance ensembles to anticipate what she may wear for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, shall we?

Sexy, yet edgy and cool, this over-sized graphic T-shirt Goulding wore with a pair of shorts underneath is ingenious for a relaxed performance.

5. Bacardi Triangle Event 2014

Goulding went tropical with a bikini and some drawstring shorts and sneakers. A no muss, no fuss look for a major gig.

6. The Jaguar Land Rover Invictus Games Closing Ceremony 2014

Definitely one of her trendier looks, this wide leg white trouser look paired with a basic black crop top was so '90s.

7. Wireless Festival 2014

What you wear to a festival is very scrutinized, and Goulding's choices were especially statement-making at the London-based Wireless Festival. Sheer joggers and a crop top with Minnie Mouse on her breasts — what could possibly be cooler?

Maybe something she'll bring this whimsical crop top back at the VS Fashion Show? More likely she'll rock some custom lingerie from the brand. We will have to wait and see!
