Starbucks Has A New Holiday Beverage On Its Menu

by Kathryn Kattalia

Starbucks' red cup season has made its triumphant return, meaning after months of dreaming about nothing but Peppermint Mochas and Gingerbread Lattes, you can once again get your hands on all the holiday beverages you've come to equate with good tidings of comfort and joy. And now, there's a new red cup drink to obsess over — Starbucks' Holiday Spice Flat White. When Mariah Carey infamously belted out "All I want for Christmas is you," this is what she was referring to.

So what is the Holiday Spice Flat White, exactly? Uh, only a coffee lover's dream. The drink comes with two Christmas Blend Espresso Roast ristretto shots, and is infused with a heavenly blend of spices — ground sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, and tangerine sugar. Available starting Nov. 30, the drink is the holiday-obsessed cousin of Starbucks' regular Flat White, which was added to the chain's full-time menu in January 2015. (A flat white, for those of you wondering, is kind of like a cappuccino, in that it mixes shots of espresso with just a bit of steamed milk to create a drink ideal for people looking for a no-frills caffeine fix.)

Starbucks is also bringing back its Chestnut Praline Latte this year, which had fans gushing after it made its celebrated debut last November. To refresh your memories, the drink consists of espresso, flavors of caramelized chestnuts, steamed milk, and whipped cream (because duh).

Rounding out the holiday offerings this year are your classic Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread Latte, Eggnog Latte, and Caramel Brulee Latte, which became available Nov. 1. It's pretty much all the sustenance you could possibly need to get yourself through to January.

And while you're clutching that red cup tightly, don't forget to tweet about it. When you use the hashtags #RedCup or #RedCups on Twitter, a teeny tiny picture of an actual red cup appears, and if you post a photo of your beverage to Instagram with the hashtag #RedCupContest, you stand a chance to win a Starbucks eGift card. But really, with red cup season officially upon us, everyone's a winner.
