Hailee Steinfeld's Got Big News To Share
If you're anything like me, you probably thought for years that Hailee Steinfeld was just a talented actress. "Just" isn't really a fair word, of course — her on-screen charisma has always been impressive, even when she was barely a teenager, but it seemed like that's where she'd build her career. Then she came out of the blue and surprised us all by being an amazing singer, as well, and deciding to pursue a music career. She's certainly been a welcome addition to the pop music world (her debut single "Love Myself" is proof enough of that), but now she's about to take things to the next level. Steinfeld's new EP Haiz is on the way, and the way she announced its arrival will totally make your day.
Anyone who follows Steinfeld on social media will likely be familiar with "Haiz" given that it's a nickname she's gone by for years, so it'll be no surprise that she chose the term for the title of her first EP. She first made mention of the EP's existence on her Twiter page last Sunday, but it wasn't until Friday, October 30 that she hit up her Instagram page to share a teaser of a new song, which she's singing a cappella to show off her serious vocal chops.
The good news is that Steinfeld's voice is on point and that the song she teases in the video above will definitely be on Haiz, according to the hashtag she used. The bad news is that we still don't have any confirmation on when the EP will be out and what songs will be on it. So far, the only Steinfeld songs we've heard other than that little snippet are "Love Myself" and a live performance of "You're Such A", all of which could end up on the release and likely will.
While it may seem like the wait for more Steinfeld music is never-ending, at least there's a light at the end of the tunnel since we know it's coming at some point. Fingers crossed it happens sooner rather than later, because I need that EP in my hands, like, yesterday. I don't think I even realized that until today, but now that I know, I'm desperate for it. Haiz, give us Haiz now, please!
