Remember how terrible Sex and the City 2 was? Remember how you cringed as the four supposedly modern, "real women" lady friends sipped ridiculously expensive martinis in their ridiculously expensive hotel room at a ridiculously expensive resort in Abu Dhabi before proceeding to culturally appropriate, mock, and put down Arabic culture? And remember that one part where Miranda and Charlotte went on and on about how hard it is to be a white rich lady with kids in New York, and how they don't know how the women who don't have hired help do it? Oh, God, it's like PTSD. Remember how THAT ENTIRE MOVIE WAS JUST TWO HOURS OF TERRIBLE? Well, we might be forced to watch more, soon: In a new interview with InStyle, Sarah Jessica Parker commented on the possibility of a new Sex and the City movie, probably with little dollar signs reflected behind her eyes.
"A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell," Parker told the magazine. "But timing is a peculiar thing. It isn’t a decision that can wait forever. I don’t want to have to wear muumuus!"
No, Sarah Jessica Parker. No. Learn when to let something go. Sex and the City got six seasons and two movies — something some shows have to dream of. It's enough. The second movie didn't even do well in theaters anyway! And that Rotten Tomatoes rating...yikes. Can we just let Carrie and her Manolos move on?
Of course, this is only talk, so luckily there's no concrete proof that a new SATC movie is on the way. But, Parker is a pretty persuasive force when it comes to this show, and other stars — like Kristin Davis, who portrayed Charlotte — have spoken about the prospect another movie in interviews before. So, it's worth knowing that it could happen, for the sole reason of preparing yourself for the worst possibility or something.
