Starbucks' Secret Halloween Menu Is Scary Good
By now, I'm sure you've heard about the Starbucks Frappula Frappuccino being offered Oct. 28 through Halloween. But did you know that there is an extensive Starbucks secret Halloween menu that is basically a caffeinated monster mash? So, if a white chocolate Frapp with raspberry sauce has you craving other Halloween-themed treats, fear not, because there are plenty of other monsters and classic fall flavors you can order to celebrate Halloween over your morning brew.
As all secret menus go, Starbucks will pretty much make you anything you want, as long as they have the ingredients available to do so. One secret beverage, the Franken Frappuccino, was actually the featured Halloween drink last year, but has now been relegated to the ranks of other secret menu items whose ingredients still haunt Starbucks stores around the world, but nobody ever talks about them.
But you, brave soul that you are, can bring these ghostly drinks back from the dead with just one visit to your fave Starbucks. Just show your barista the recipe for your chosen spooky drink so that they won't think you too ghoulish for your out-of-the-box beverage.
Here are some delicious spells to cast on your coffee this week.
1. The Franken Frappuccino
The Franken Frapp was last year's Frappula. The green frozen concoction, a green tea Frappuccino with peppermint syrup, white chocolate sauce, and java chips, is still available if you know how to order it. Find the recipe at Starbucks Secret Menu, a blog dedicated to pulling back the veil between you and the full potential of the Starbucks inventory.
2. The Wired Zombie
The Wired Zombie sounds like me after a late-night Red Bull, but, in this case, it's a dark horse favorite off the Starbucks secret menu. This one even contains matcha green tea powder, and the obligatory raspberry-syrup-guts, which sounds like a winning combination. Sound like a dream? Starbucks Secret Menu has you covered on this recipe as well.
3. Halloween Eggnog Frappuccino
Take advantage of Starbucks' pumpkin spice syrup while you can, and order up this Halloween Eggnog Frapp, a creme-based beverage that also includes a few pumps of caramel.
4. The Dirty Werewolf
Now, you won't be able to go around ordering this one without the recipe, because I just made it up a couple of seconds ago, but in the warm-blooded spirit of the werewolf, this drink will keep you toasty (not to mention wide awake) when the moon is out.
Here's my recipe: Start with a chai latte, add two shots espresso, cinnamon dulce syrup (one pump for tall, two for grande, three for venti), top with whipped cream, and sprinkle cinnamon powder
