The Timberlakes Have The Parenting Thing Down

by Jamie Primeau

As any '90s girl can attest, Justin Timberlake has come a long way since his curly haired, denim-on-denim *NSYNC days. I'm still semi-shocked by the fact that he's now a dad — probably because in my mind, he'll always be that teenage marionette dancing to "Bye Bye Bye." Despite my disbelief, Timberlake and wife Jessica Biel welcomed baby Silas into the world back in April. Ever since, they've been busy with the whole parenting thing and not spending as much time in the spotlight. But that all changed on Friday, when the celebrity couple had a much-needed night out. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel attended the GLSEN Respect Awards, which honors students, educators, and individuals who make a difference in the lives of LGBT youth.

The pair took the stage to receive the Inspiration Award and gave a perfect speech. Biel began by saying, "We want to thank you for leading the way to make our schools more safe, [and for] inspiring us for all of our children." Timberlake then added,

Also, thank you for allowing mommy and daddy to have a really good night out together. With adults. Honey, look around, this is what adults look like. They do exist! They don’t smell like poopy diapers…some of you do.

Reportedly, Biel then quipped, "And we’re okay with that!" "You know who you are," her husband said. Hmm, was that a joke to former fellow bandmates Chris Kirkpatrick? Maybe Joey Fatone or JC Chasez?

Either way, it looks like these two have the whole corny parenting joke thing down, in the most endearing way possible. Honestly, it just gives us another reason to love these new parents. They even donned trucker hats with the word "respect" on them, to which Timberlake joked, "We look like we're in another boyband."

All in all, it's great they're getting back out there, especially to support an important cause. It's also admirable that they're taking as much time as possible to spend with Silas and all of his poopy diapers.

I mean, I guess it's easy to spend time with him when you see that cute face, huh?

As far as cool parents go, Timberlake and Biel are right up there with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. They should form some kind of Hollywood parenting support group. JT and Reynolds would probably be the kings of corny dad jokes, while Lively and Biel could bond over mom advice.

Either way, here's hoping we see more from the Timber-parents soon, because Silas is one cute kid!
