Twitter Mourns Maureen O'Hara's Passing

by Jennifer Still

Modern cinema is great and all, but when it comes to the classic film stars of the Golden Age, they just don't make 'em like they used to. Maureen O'Hara was one such actress who had it all: guts, beauty, and amazing acting talent. With a career that spanned more than 75 years and with over 65 on-screen credits to her name, she was a force to be reckoned with. That's why the news that O'Hara has passed away at the age of 95 at her family home in Idaho is even sadder. She certainly led a full and accomplished life, but her presence in the world of film cannot be understated, and she will certainly be missed.

O'Hara, who was born in Dublin in 1920, passed away in her sleep, according to a statement issued by her family. And while it's a small comfort to know that O'Hara didn't suffer in her final moments, her absence has still deeply moved and saddened millions of film fans from around the world, many of whom took to Twitter to express their grief and appreciation for the work she produced during her lifetime. While O'Hara may be gone, it seems safe to say that she certainly won't be forgotten anytime soon.
