You know that thing where you're so busy singing along to one of your favorite songs that you forget to even listen to it? And then, all of a sudden, you catch some of the words and you discover that you're gleefully crowing along with song lyrics that are actually really creepy? It happens to me more often than you think, and has ruined more songs for me than I can count, because not only does it mean the song has a completely different message than I thought, but I've been singing that message all over town without realizing it. My apologies to anyone who was friends with me when "Blurred Lines" came out, and I spent a lot of time telling you "I know you want it." Now, with the benefit of hindsight, I am finally aware that you did not want it, and neither did I.
But I know I'm not the only person this happens to, because some songs are just too catchy for their own good. Their melodies trick you into ignoring the lyrics, until one day you come awake to the terrible things that are coming out of your mouth. And, in the interest of making sure those kinds of revelations happen behind closed doors versus in the middle of a crowded room or in front of all your friends, here are 14 song lyrics that are actually super creepy. So, you know, you can stop singing them or whatever.
