Is Steven Seagal Running For Arizona Governor?
First Clay Aiken and now Steven Seagal. Everyone is running for office. There must be something in the air, because just two days ago, Aiken expressed interest in running for the House of Representatives seat for North Carolina’s 2nd congressional district and now Seagal, an actor, is considering running for his spot as governor of Arizona. From his political aspirations to Jerry Springer's, take a look at these politically-minded celebs.
Ronald Reagan
From radio and film to an acting career with Warner Brothers, President Reagan first served as the 33rd Governor of California before taking on the presidency. He became the 40th U.S. president.
Arnold Schwarzenneger
No doubt, Schwarzenneger being elected as a governor of California became one of the most talked about political moments in 2003. The bodybuilder and actor known for his role in The Terminator, served two terms.
Clint Eastwood
Many of us remember that time Eastwood spoke to an empty chair, but who remembered that he also ran for mayor of Carmel, California once upon a blue moon? The actor, producer, director (everything) and father of hunk, Scott Eastwood, Eastwood served as a nonpartisan mayor from 1986 to 1988.
Jerry Springer
Running for the Democratic party, Springer’s political career first took off in 1970. Although he ran for Congress and failed, Springer served as the 56th mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio. Then that whole hiring a prostitute scandal happened. As much as I loved to binge-watch The Jerry Springer Show, if he could do it, I’m sure Seagal can as well.
Kal Penn
After watching Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, you probably think two things: 1. How can I get a White Castle burger right now? and 2. How does Kumar become an associate director in the White House Office of Public Engagement? Round of applause.
Jesse Ventura
Seagal is an action-actor and Ventura took a path from wrestler, to actor, to serving a four-year term as mayor of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. He later became the 38th governor of Minnesota. See, Seagal? Your political opportunities are endless.
Shirley Temple
Shirley Temple, you go girl! From young actress with the cute ringlets in her hair, to empowered female politician, Temple has done it all. She was appointed Representative to the 24th United Nations General Assembly, U.S. Ambassador to Ghana and U.S. Ambassador to to Czechoslovakia, among many other accomplishments.
