Channel Beyoncé & Nicki Minaj This Halloween
Finding the perfect, unique Halloween costume is one thing, but finding the perfect, unique, coordinating Halloween costumes for you and your BFF is even more difficult — especially as it gets closer and closer to Halloween. The typical matching costumes, like PB&J and salt and pepper shakers, can be a little cheesy and overdone, in my opinion. If you feel the same way, and you also want to dress like two badass women in the music industry, fear not. You have plenty of options, and they all start with one of my favorite videos of the year. Dressing up as Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé in the "Feeling Myself" music video is an awesome idea, because not only will you feel fierce all night long, but you'll also probably be one of the only people at the party with your costume. And that's half the battle, right?
If you've seen the video, you already know that it offers up plenty of different costume possibilities, but one of my favorites is the easiest to put together — and one of the most recognizable. Ready to wow everyone you see on Halloween? All that's left to do is to decide who's the Beyoncé and who's the Nicki Minaj between you and your best friend, and which of the scenes you want to create.

Option A: The Swimsuits
Beyoncé
I hope you're feeling creative, because for this one, it's required!
This look starts with one simple item: A red one-piece swimsuit or leotard, whichever is cheaper or easier for you to find. This one — cheap, and a really good starting off point for the DIY action you're about to get into.
Athletic Letters, $16, Amazon
Next, take a trip to your local craft store, and get a set of large iron on athletic letters, like these from Michael's from $15.99. If you can find them with a white outline? Even better! Follow the instructions on the package to create your own Bulls jersey one piece, including the number one. Simple enough, right?
Beyoncé's barefoot in the part of the video where she's wearing this outfit, so feel free to wear whatever shoes you think are most comfortable — or look the best with your outfit.
Bonus points: If you want to add a furry pink jacket like Beyoncé adds to her ensemble in the video, you can do that, too! This one is available at Forever 21 for $29.99, or you could add a light pink feather boa like this one for just a few dollars from a craft store.
Make sure to give your hair plenty of volume, put on some red lipstick, and you're golden!

Good news: this costume is ridiculously easy — mostly because a look-alike swimsuit to the one Nicki wears in this scene is ready to purchase.
If you have $65 on hand, you can pick one up on Etsy. Need a similar look on the cheap? This one from Iconic Apparel via Store Envy is practically identical, but for $30.
Accessories are an important part of the look, too, so you'll want plenty of costume jewelry. Places like Forever 21 are ideal, and you'll definitely want to prioritize bulky rings and huge gold earrings like these. Don't forget a super high ponytail — and a pink boa or fur jacket like the one from the Beyoncé costume above if you and your BFF have decided that's the direction you're taking this one in.
Option B: Black & White
For Both Costumes, You'll Need...

And black boots. If you don't already have a pair, you can grab 'em for pretty cheap at Target for $34.99 — and best of all, they're something you'd probably wear again! Now, you're ready for the details.

This is ridiculously easy, y'all. You just need an oversized jersey top! There are two ways to go about this — buying a huge, extra long black t-shirt and more varsity letters to iron on, or settling for a suitable replica.

This one is available for $12.99 on Amazon, and it's close enough — especially for that price! Throw your hair up in a low bun or ponytail, and you're good to go!
Nicki Minaj
First things first: A black one piece swimsuit, which can be found all over the place.

This one's from Speedo (via Amazon) for $37.
Next: The varsity jacket, which is a bit more of a challenge. One can easily be purchased from the men's department at Forever 21 for $22.90, but if you want to add the furry sleeves, that'll take a little extra effort.
You can purchase some white shag fur from a craft store like Michael's for pretty cheap, depending on how much fabric you decide to buy, and then sew it onto the sleeves with a needle and thread or a sewing machine... preferably with the help of a sewing savvy friend if you're anything like me and break sewing machines just by looking at them. If you don't want to take it that far? No worries! The jacket on its own will still look good.
That's it! And if you wanna grab burgers and fries to throw at each other, that's totally up to you. I have a feeling Beyoncé and Nicki would be proud.
