Lamar Odom's Family Shares New Update

Just days ago, things were looking bleak for Lamar Odom after he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, but now, the latest news on the pro basketball player is really looking up. According to a statement given by Odom's aunt, JaNean Mercer, to Buzzfeed on Tuesday, Lamar Odom has began to walk at the Los Angeles medical facility where he is recovering. And the family is remaining optimistic about his progress. Mercer added that Odom is "getting stronger and reaching significant milestones" as he continues to recover.

In the statement, Mercer said:

He continues to make miraculous progress, taking a few steps in Los Angeles. We couldn’t be more overjoyed! We realize Lamar’s continued improvement will not be easy, however his unrelenting strength and faith in God will pull him through ... Lamar has always been blessed with a tenacious, fighting spirit, overcoming insurmountable obstacles to achieve the impossible. These past few days have been no different. He is defying the odds in his toughest battle to date with GOD’s grace.

She also added that Odom received "superb, round-the-clock" care at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. Buzzfeed reports that ex Khloé Kardashian is still at Odom's side — a sweet gesture considering their rocky relationship since the couple filed for divorce in 2013.

It's good to hear that Odom is doing better, especially since it seems he's come a long way after reportedly being unresponsive last week. Here's hoping more positive updates are in the future!
