Only a few days have passed since former NBA player and Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Lamar Odom was hospitalized after being found unconscious at Dennis Hof's Love Ranch South, a brothel, in Pahrump, Nevada, on Tuesday allegedly due to a drug "overdose,"according to E! News sources. Ever since he was taken to a local Las Vegas hospital, there have been many updates about Lamar Odom's current condition. Now, on Day 4, there is even more information being released by sources who claim to be close to the situation.
(Update: On Friday, Odom’s aunt, JaNean Mercer released a statement to Us Weekly via her rep, Alvina Alson, claiming that Odom "gave a thumbs-up to the doctors this morning and said a few words to them” and that the family is "continuously praying and trusting in the doctors’ care.” According to Us Weekly, Alson also explained that she would not be answering any further questions about Odom’s health.)
Before getting to the new details, here's a bit of catchup: The Nye County, Nevada Sheriff's Office held a press conference Wednesday, where Sheriff Sharon Wehryl announced that there is an investigation into what happened at the brothel and that Odom could possibly face drug possession charges. Furthermore, the 911 call revealed that Odom reportedly took as many as 10 sexual-performance supplement pills, in addition to cocaine. Finally, Rev. Jesse Jackson visited Odom and spoke to reporters claiming that the former NBA player is on life support and that the athlete is improving.
Also on Wednesday, Odom's rep Eve Sarkisyan told Us Weekly, "Family and friends are extremely concerned for Lamar. Please don't listen to the false information being circulated unofficially. Please respect the family's privacy during this difficult time." A rep for Odom has not yet released another update. Bustle reached out on Friday to Sarkisyan's office for further comment on the claims below, but did not hear back at the time of publication.

His Heart Is Reportedly Responding
According to TMZ, Odom's heart function is "much better," per a source "familiar with the situation." Reportedly, doctors spoke with his family and friends saying his heart response is a good sign.
Odom Allegedly "Woke Up Briefly"
Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News reports that, "Odom woke up briefly and showed some responsiveness with his body language on Thursday, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation." According to E! News, he is still in his coma and has a "breathing tube ventilating his lungs, and a feeding tube supplying him nutrients." A source told E!, "He hasn't suffered any more strokes. But he's not getting better and that has everyone worried."
He Might Have "Severe Physical & Mental Impairment"
E! News also reports that the doctors speaking with Odom's family said the longer he remains unresponsive, the higher the chance he might have "normal brain function" if and when he wakes up. Due to the reported several strokes Odom had, "he could have severe physical and mental impairment, including inability or trouble doing things like speak, walk and swallow."
