Cate Blanchett In Black & White Is Far From Basic
One actress found a way to make the ubiquitous black and white style look fresh and new. Cate Blanchett wore a black and white gown to the BFI London Film Festival premiere of her new film Carol, and managed to look unique and totally stunning. The 46-year-old has been busy promoting not one, but two of her upcoming films, Carol and Truth, and has been nailing one incredible fashion look after another. In her latest style success, the actress donned a black floor-length gown with a thick white border that was more awe-worthy than anything I've ever seen on the red carpet.
The unique dress was covered entirely in sequins which dazzled in the spotlight from every angle. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the piece was the silhouette, which had a high neck, a subtle mermaid-style hemline, and loose asymmetrical quarter sleeves that cascaded downward.
If that wasn't enough of a wow factor, there was even more fashion-y goodness when she turned around. The back of the dress featured side cutouts and cape-like sleeves. It was truly a sight to see.
Blanchett rocked a demure smoky eye, rosy cheeks, and pale pink lips. She kept her blonde locks sleek with a side-parted blowout.
Feast your eyes on the fabulousness.
