Celebs Love J. Law's Wage Gap Essay

by Allyson Koerner

On Tuesday, the most recent issue of Lena Dunham's Lenny Letter newsletter made headlines — and for good reason. Jennifer Lawrence wrote an essay about the gender wage gap in Hollywood, which is receving much praise and support from her fans, including both men and women. One particular line is making its way around social media, accompanied by either "Hell yes!" or "Get it!" or any other similar uplifting phrases. That line reads: "I’m over trying to find the 'adorable' way to state my opinion and still be likable!" Celebrities are praising Lawrence, too, like many of her fans, and rightfully so.

J. Law's fellow female celebs know better than anyone what it's like to be an actress in Hollywood and competing for equal pay alongside their male co-stars. It's actually kind of ridiculous that it's 2015 and women (in most occupations) make less than men. Thankfully, there are people, like the Oscar-winning actress, letting their voice be heard and taking a stand for women everywhere. If that isn't empowering, I don't know what is.

Well, many famous faces agree with me, including a Harry Potter actress, who also has spoken time and time again about gender equality. With that said, here are a few celebs supporting Lawrence and her powerful essay.
