9 Creepily Amazing Halloween Themed Shoes

by Phoebe Avison

Calling all shoe queens: What are you wearing on your feet this Halloween? Will it be the same pair of plain black heels that go with everything but look a little basic? Or will you opt for a pair of Halloween themed shoes instead?

You might be looking for a spellbinding shoe to accompany your witch costume, a deadly pair for a zombie getup, or some killer heels for a corpse bride. Whatever it is you’re after, there’s a scarily good selection of Halloween themed shoes out there. Even if you're just hoping for a unique shoe to go with your understated, spooky slogan T-shirt and skinnies (because maybe you just don’t do Halloween or you loathe costume parties), any of these ghoulish kicks will fit the bill as well.

The fashion world has seen some freakish footwear in its day, including Alexander McQueen's out of this world Armadillo shoes that actually look like alien footwear. Back in 2012, Iris van Herpen also collaborated with footwear brand United Nude to create "Fang" shoes, which as the name suggests were heels that looked like monster mouths on the soles of shoes. More recently, there have even been an array of Cousin Itt style shoes on the runways, such as Gucci’s super shaggy shoes featured in the brand’s fall 2015 showcase.

Now you can have a scream this Halloween in fearsome footwear worthy of a vampire queen with a shoe fetish.

1. The Bloody Eyeball Boot

Iron Fist Peeping Tom Bootie, $54, Heels

Your enemies will be shaking in their boots once they get a look at this gory eyeball pattern. These peep toe ankle boots would make a great addition to a range of Halloween costumes, from witches to zombies to monsters. Even if you don't do dressing up, you could wear these edgy boots with a chic outfit to get into the Halloween spirit without having to sport a costume.

2. The Skeleton Sneakers

Skeleton Slip-On Sneakers, $20, Hot Topic

Are you dressing up as a skeleton this Halloween? You may have the bone-print top and leggings to match, but what about some skeletal footwear? Finish off your costume with a pair of slip-on skeleton sneakers. Goth girls could even get away with wearing these comfy-looking shoes all year round, so they're really a footwear investment. At least that's what you can tell your parents, S.O., or friends if they shoot a raised eyebrow at your novelty sneakers.

3. The Beastly Burger Flats

Iron Fist Cycloburger Flat, $10, Heels

Show the world just how hangry you can be this Halloween in these monster burger pumps. You could even use them as inspiration for your Halloween party and serve spooky snacks and creepy canapés.

4. The Red Devil Heels

These scarlet, satanic shoes are a horrifying pair of heels that would go well with a demonic costume.

5. The Grizly Zombie Platforms

Iron Fist Zombie Stomper Super, $62, Heels

These gruesome shoes are an epic choice for fans of The Walking Dead or those attempting to look like they've just risen from their grave. The large platform and peep toe ensure these heels are gory yet girly, which is an unusual combination that works frighteningly well.

6. The Skull Print Combat Boots

Black Skulls and Roses Lined Combat Boot, $31, Hot Topic

Keep it simple with a pair of combat boots that flaunt a romantically morbid pattern of skulls and roses. They're great for any Dr. Marten lovers out there or for those channeling a more subtly spooky look.

7. The Bony Heels

Sink your teeth into these gruesome shoes. This fang-tastic footwear could be worn by monsters, werewolves, and vampires alike and they're great for gals who don't like wearing heels.
