Miley's Feeling Emo About 2013
Could it be that we actually feel a little sad for Miley Cyrus? Last night the singer posted a few seriously melancholy tweets to her account and we can't help but want to analyze to determine whether or not she's still sad about her ex Liam Hemsworth. The singer's recently leaked "Adore You" music video which, if you can get past its sex tape nature, seems to be blatantly written for and about ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth. And even though the Internet almost exploded when it found out that she might be dating ex- Twilight actor Kellan Lutz, this girl still hasn't moved on. Seriously, Miley, if you tell us one more time that you're "working on yourself" and that you're "happy being single" we're going to smack you. Because this girl isn't over it yet.
Obviously Miley Cyrus was doing what a lot people do just ahead of the start of a new year — fixate on the shittiest moments of the year before and make all kinds of resolutions they won't keep — when she took to Twitter last night. We can only imagine that the Bangerz singer lit some candles, put the saddest song she could think of — Jeff Buckley's "Lover, You Should've Come Over" — on repeat (thus resulting in her claiming it's her favorite song of all time), maybe she even poured a glass of wine or Malibu and Gatorade because apparently that's "her shit." Perhaps she also lit up a joint because that's also "her shit," and thought long and hard about 2013. Or long and hard about her break up with Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth, considering the tweets that were born in her quiet moments of reflection. Either way, Miley is sad and we know it's got nothing to do with Kellan Lutz.
Here are the tweets from Miley's trip down sad and lonely 2013 memory lane:
Have any of you ever heard this song? Because it is literally the saddest song on the planet about breaking up with someone you love. Here's just a sample of some of the lyrics and you can decide yourself if this whole emo moment isn't about Liam Hemsworth:
And maybe I'm too young to keep good love from going wrongBut tonight you're on my mind so you never knowBroken down and hungry for your love with no way to feed itWhere are you tonight, child you know how much I need itToo young to hold on and too old to just break free and run
And also:
So I'll wait for you... and I'll burnWill I ever see your sweet returnOh will I ever learnOh lover, you should've come over'Cause it's not too late
This is her "favorite song of all time"? Sure, like she says in the tweet, it gives you all kinds of feels — but for someone who's supposedly so overwhelmed with joy and happiness to be free and working on herself this is a damn sad song. I'd hope she'd choose a more up beat girl power anthem but I guess we can't all get what we want. (There's also no way this song/tweet could be about Kellan Lutz, RIGHT? Unless they already broke up.)
Cyrus then posted these two tweets:
Well shit, Miley. We actually have no idea who she laid by the fire and listened to The Cardigans with all night long but we can assume that it was Hemsworth. It doesn't look like her relationship with Lutz (which is essentially and allegedly just hooking up at this point) has evolved so far that she already has "remember whens" with him. She's longing for something — perhaps simpler days when being 19 and engaged was a beautiful feeling in a gilded world of love?
These tweets wouldn't be a big deal if Miley was actually open about her feelings. I guess we could look at "Wrecking Ball" and "Adore You" and kind of understand, but now we're basically just going to call B.S. on her new "I'm So Happy To Be All About Me And Alone With My Thoughts" attitude.
It really doesn't seem like you're happy, girl. But trust us, it gets better.
