She's been known to ditch pants and/or wear sky high heels while traveling. That's why it shouldn't surprise anyone that Lady Gaga wore a white gown to the airport, as evidenced on Instagram. Yes, it was a gorgeous, white lacy gown with cap sleeves and a major, up-to-here slit.
This is the kind of dress one would wear to a formal event, not to the airport. Most of us schlep through the airport in sweats, jeans, hoodies, sneakers, or something comfy and cute, since traveling is crazy stressful; Kendall Jenner's Forever 21 ensemble was a perfect example of appropriate airport chic.
No one wants to be cooped up in a plane, with stale, recirculated air while wearing fancy clothes.
Well, that concept doesn't apply when it comes to Gaga. She dressed in her Sunday best when traveling because she is always trailed by the paparazzi. She has to show up in style.
But this was on a whole other level.
The dress was by Jantaminiau. Gaga thanked the brand in her tweet, noting that the dress was airport-friendly. Yeah, Gaga, if you say so! I can't imagine a form-fitting, constricting, and stunning gown such as this allowing for ease of movement, especially while maneuvering through security lines, while being patted down, and while surrounded by tons of people.
Let's have a look at the frock from all angles. It's the chicest airport dress I've ever seen.
There was so much detail. The bone color prevented it from feeling too wedding dress-esque. Gaga is getting married to Taylor Kinney, so of course her Little Monsters are always looking for some indication of what she might be thinking when it comes to her wedding gown.
You cannot deny that Gaga looked every inch a princess and a rock star while cruising through the airport in this ensemble. I am loving those open-toed, gold pumps and the major train, too.
Mother Monster's previous ensemble, worn earlier in the week, was much more airport-friendly. A Judas Priest rocker tee and denim short shorts are always travel-appropriate. Plus, vintage rock tees have been a Gaga style staple of 2015. But she Gaga-fied the ensemble with heels because duh. She took it from casual to glamsual with a few inches of heel height.
A cursory run through of the Jantaminiau site suggests that the designer is totally Gaga-approved and of the same aesthetic as the pop diva.
The mantra? Namesake Jan Taminiau states, "As a designer my goal is to make the ultimate dress, every single time, over and over again."
Well, he succeeded in making the ultimate airport dress with Gaga's cream-colored gown.
She may just have put him on the mainstream fashion map by wearing this frock. Want to see more of his designs and get a better idea of his work? Then follow the JANTAMINIAU Instagram.
