While I'm happy to see Michaela with a new beau on How To Get Away With Murder, it sucks that he has to be mysterious and possibly sinister. We still don't know what "Eggs" means, but Michaela's suitor is almost definitely the person that Rebecca Sutter texted before she died, right? They seemed pretty close in the photo Wes found, so are Levi and Rebecca related on How to Get Away with Murder ? The townie seemed pretty unconnected, but that can't be 100 percent true. Levi is played by Matt Cohen, who fans of The N (formerly known as Noggin, currently known as TeenNick) will remember as Aiden on South of Nowhere. He and Rebecca definitely look alike, could they be siblings or cousins or something?
The obvious relationship between the two of them would be a romantic or ex-romantic one, but I think that's a little bit too simple. There are plenty of lovers on How To Get Away With Murder but this seems like something more calculated. He could be her confident/partner-in-crime, or dealer, or manager at the bar. She did once mention having a friend who's brother is a cop, in the penultimate episode of Season 1. That's a handy pal for a drug dealer to have, and it could easily be Levi — nobody would blink an eye at him showing up at the courthouse to visit his brother.
However, I'm gunning for blood relation. Plus, this would give us more insight into Rebecca's family history. That girl loved to lie for sport. There's no way she was as unconnected as she claimed to be. She referred to herself as an orphan in Season 1 while celebrating Christmas with Wes, but what about extended family? Who is this girl that the two of them are with in the photo?
This isn't a perfect theory. Rebecca was the main suspect in a murder investigation, so you'd think that any cousins or brothers that she had in the area would have rushed to her defense or bailed her out of jail. Wouldn't the cops have wanted to question him if he was still in town? Even if Levi isn't related to Rebecca, I'm confused as to why we're only seeing him now — unless the two of them decided for some reason that it was best for her to appear as if she didn't have any immediate allies. If this is who she texted that day, how much does he know? I'm also confused as to how Michaela found Levi to set up that date. If he had added his number into Michaela's phone, wouldn't any further communication have just showed up in her "Eggs 911" message thread? Is he not Eggs 911? Does he have multiple phones, like so many other characters on this show? Levi brings a lot of questions with him to How To Get Away With Murder, and I hope his relationship to Rebecca lives up to all the drama.
