Rainbow Is The Name Of The Game At Chloe SS 2016

by Melodi Erdogan

Fall collections are often about dark colors, while spring collections are frequently much more colorful, sometimes to the extreme. Which was the case with Chloe's SS 2016 rainbow runway. Creative director Clare Waight Keller used every color on the wheel, showcasing tie-dye pieces, rainbow hems, and even colorfully striped knits in all different shades of yarn. This is the rainbow collection of your day-glo dreams.

I admittedly am not a huge fan of color in my wardrobe. I typically stick to blacks and grays, because they're versatile and go with everything. That being said, even I can appreciate the beautiful tones and extraordinary colors in this Chloe range. The clothes are so bohemian and chic, so pretty and flowing, and the extra dosage of color really makes the pieces stand out. If the same items were black, gray, or even white, they certainly wouldn't have the same affect that they do in vivid technicolor.

The subdued rainbow effect really makes each piece high-impact. Take a long flowing maxi, pictured below, for example. Don't get me wrong, the structure of the dress is absolutely beautiful. It's got a gorgeous round neckline, drop-waist seams around the hips, and a billowy skirt. But the vertical stripes of color make it a statement item. Just imagine this stunner walking toward you down a runway.

Oh, wait, you don't have to! Thankfully, Eva Chen, Instagram's head of fashion partnerships, captured the moment from the front row.

Isn't the dress just heavenly? And check out this maxi skirt made from the same flowing material, paired with a multi-colored knit sweater. It sounds like an odd combination, but they work perfectly together.

This blouse has a rainbow-striped hem around the ruffling details. How cute is that?

These wide leg white trousers with rainbow piping on the side hem are easily my favorite piece from the line. I would like 97 pairs of these to wear for the rest of my life, please and thank you.

The tassels, the light fabrics, and the extraordinary colors? I think it's safe to say that I am hypnotized by the beauty of this collection. It makes me want to plan a trip to Mykonos and exclusively wear these clothes. That's obviously not going to happen, but I can dream, right? These pieces have me wishing for spring and summer already, and it's hardly even autumn.

Fortunately, you can wear rainbow this fall season, and no I don't just mean by using that silly filter on Snapchat. Here are some pretty rainbow items you can wear now.
