McDreamy Is Perfect For 'Bridget Jones'

Former Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey — you might know him as McDreamy (RIP) — has just given us a brief look into the location for his new film, Bridget Jones’ Baby . The very much anticipated third installment of Bridget Jones' Diary officially signed Patrick Dempsey back in early September — a moment that undoubtedly had McDreamy fans collectively sighing in relief that their favorite fake doctor will return to them, this time via the big screen.

Dempsey posted an Instagram pic of himself with a rather large green umbrella (not relevant, but still hilarious) and captioned it, "Nice to be working in England. Renee and Colin are an absolute joy to work with!" So thanks to that not so subtle Renée Zellweger/Colin Firth shoutout, we now know exactly what Dempsey's doing in the UK: getting ready to film the new Bridget Jones movie, which will begin production October 2.

Besides the fact that I am hoping and praying Dempsey will be sporting an English accent, what other kinds of things can we expect from the heartthrob? It hasn't been confirmed whether or not Dempsey will play a competing love interest for Bridget (though, with Hugh Grant officially out of the picture, there's definitely room for another love triangle). I know, I know, Mark Darcy and Bridget are happy and all — but in the land of rom-coms, anything's possible. Let's take a look at what could happen.

He Could Be Her Charming Boss

In a nod to the first Jones film — and a nod to Dempsey's Grey's Anatomy character — the love affair could be one of boss and employee. Maybe Bridget will be happily married to Mark Darcy, and on her way to having a baby when BAM! Dempsey shows up in her office. With his grin. And his hair. All will be lost.
