It's already October, which happens to be Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This annual awareness-raising month is so important to be talking about, as it is the most common cancer in women, according to the CDC. In 2012, 224,147 women were diagnosed with the disease. With breast cancer being such an epidemic, this obviously leads me to talk about the importance of both awareness raising and fundraising for research to find a cure.
If you love fashion and beauty, this turns out to be a win-win situation. There are numerous beauty brands and fashion lines that donate a portion of their proceeds during the month of October to breast cancer research, which means you can shop and help to support the cause simultaneously. I'm all about using my dollars for good, especially with a cause like this that affects so many women every single day. Hey, if you're going to shop, shouldn't you try to make your purchases go as far as they can to do good in the world?
If you share this philosophy, check out these 13 places to shop in October that will help to raise money for breast cancer research and charities.
