Amy Schumer's Emmy Date Is Perfect
There's no denying that Amy Schumer is having a major moment right now, and I, for one, could not be happier for her. What's even better though, is that Schumer is using this major moment to spread the word about feminism — even when she's not trying. Case in point, Schumer brought her sister to the Emmys as her date on Sunday night.
Though Kim Caramele is usually referred to as Schumer's "road manager," she actually has a few different roles in her sister's life. For one, she's a part of the writing staff on Inside Amy Schumer. She's also an associate producer of Schumer's film, Trainwreck. To say that these two are the epitome of #sistergoals would be a huge understatement. Honestly, there's nothing better than seeing two woman supporting each other in all of their achievements (especially if they happen to share DNA!). It's the exact kind of message I'd expect Schumer, an outspoken feminist, to give us on the red carpet.
The confident and accomplished writer, actress, and advocate for body and sex positivity (as clearly seen through her comedy sketch show, Inside Amy Schumer) doesn't need a man by her side. Nope, she can slay without one. (And slay she did, btw). She and her sister gave off mad bridesmaids vibes with their adorably matching dresses, and it was great.
Seacrest even made a comment about how similar Schumer and her sister's dresses were, to which Schumer replied, "we feel like the evil stepsisters." If by evil stepsisters, you mean feminist goddesses, then sure.
Schumer has been a supporter of body positivity and woman's rights and isn't afraid to take her comedy to the next level. She's also not afraid to bring whoever she wants with her on the red carpet, and that's completely refreshing to see.
