Could Drake & Future's Mix Come To Spotify?

by Caitlyn Callegari

You know what I love? Drake. You know what else I love? Music. You know what I like even more? Drake's music. But, you know what I like the most? Drake's music that I can listen to via streaming. I know you're with me, people. So, it isn't out of the question to wonder whether or not Drake and Future's What A Time To Be Alive , will be on Spotify. I mean, this is very important information and all, considering the duo's new LP is debuting on the eve of a new week. I mean, how else will you be able to memorize the lyrics and school your friends on them at work and school the next day, otherwise?

Well, don't worry. You can still show up to work and effectively piss everyone off with your superior Drake/Future knowledge, but perhaps, not in the way you'd think. You see, according to Billboard, Spotify is not going to be the source of this particular bout of melodic goodness. They relay, as per Drake and Future's Instagram accounts, that,

"What a Time to Be Alive is scheduled to hit iTunes and Apple Music at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday, Sept. 20. The two rappers also teased that What a Time to Be Alive will be featured on Sunday night’s episode of Drake’s OVO Sound radio show, which airs on Beats 1 at 6 p.m. EST."

So, sure, there's no direct mention of Spotify, but that doesn't mean it won't happen right? Well, no, not exactly. That lingering hope for news of Spotify also getting access to the album is going to have to go in the "maybe" column for now. Rolling Stone explains that this release is "exclusive" to iTunes and Apple Music. Basically, Spotify, for now, Drake and Future are saying, "You can't sit with us!"

But who knows what'll happen down the line? Drake already surprised us by dropping the album — it wouldn't be out of the question for its streaming platforms to change, too.
