12 Best Emmy Awards Quotes

When the biggest awards show for television is hosted by someone as goofy as Andy Samberg, chances are the night will be filled with a hilarious and weird energy. Thankfully viewers were able to witness just that during Sunday night's Emmy Awards telecast. After all, Samberg did promise a "silly" Emmy Awards show with the perfect balance of meta and seriousness to the proceedings. Along with a few nice surprises in the awards given throughout the evening, viewers also had the chance to see some of TV's biggest stars crack loose while awaiting their Emmy fates and deliver some of the best and funniest quotes of the Emmy Awards telecast.

Samberg explained to Inquisitr that the show would feature "really funny presenters," and lots of room for comedy considering the amount of sketch comedians presenting and nominated for Emmys. Samberg did not disappoint as he nailed his opening sketch and monologue, and other celebs also followed suit by truly embracing the weird. Stars gave hilariously fun speeches and presenting moments with the same level of enthusiasm Andy Samberg brings had himself. Within Samberg's monologue alone, there were some incredible zingers and some really strange moments that will definitely stick with us for weeks to come.
