In a world where heartbreaking news of celebrity splits springs up on a weekly basis, there's one couple that always renews my faith in Hollywood romance: Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Not only are they super-cool parents, but they have an amazing sense of humor. Proving the latter point, Lively recently admitted she'd like to marry someone else. But don't panic or grab the Kleenex just yet! It's not what you think. In a post on Instagram, Blake Lively spilled her love for Taylor Swift and proved there's no "bad blood" between them. The actress wrote,
Umm whoever thought I was throwin shade clearly doesn't know I have a "Taylor Swift Please Be My Wife Voo Doo Doll" #obsessed Look how rad she is here making my niece Heather feel like a rock star. Love my Canadian family almost as much as I love Taylor Lively. I mean Swift. Ok, FIIINE we can hyphenate our last names. Xo Blake Swift-Lively 4eva
And that is how you officially shut down feud rumors! Blake Swift-Lively is awesome for clearing up the situation with humor and class. Plus, she fangirls over Swift just as much as the rest of us. Knowing how crafty Lively is (Have you seen her website Preserve?), she very well may have an actual voodoo doll... Kidding! (Kind of.) As much as I love Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds together, I'd totally support Lively and T. Swift tying the knot.
But on a more serious note, it's absolutely adorable that Swift took the time to meet up with Lively's niece at the 1989 World Tour, as seen in the photo above. Then again, it's not very surprising, since making people's dreams come true is pretty much T. Swift's M.O.
So it'd seem odd if Swift was fighting with Lively, and yet the actress mentions rumors of a feud in her post. But what's it all about? Why the whole fuss in the first place? Let's rewind: On Friday, Blake Lively shared a behind-the-scenes picture from L'Oréal Paris's short film for their new Color Riche collection. The picture featured John Legend, Lively, and a bunch of other actresses and models—Karlie Kloss, Eva Longoria, Naomi Watts, etc.
In the caption, Lively joked, "...soooo, turns out this WASN'T a video shoot for John Legend's cover of Bad Blood." She obviously wasn't shading Taylor Swift (there were even winky face emojis in there), but other websites were quick to view it as an insult and say she made fun of Swift. It seems like people are so quick to lump Swift into an imaginary feud with anyone (ahem, Avril Lavigne? Zayn Malik?). But luckily, Lively didn't let the nonsense live on.
Now that that's cleared up, Swift and Lively should get together and bake some cookies to laugh off the whole misunderstanding. Maybe Swift can land a cameo in the third Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie? Or if they ever *do* film a "Bad Blood" sequel, the cast in Lively's photo would be perfect. Whatever way these two decide to make their new friendship public, I'm Team Swift-Lively 4eva, too!
