Does The iPhone 6S Have A New Charger?
As promised, Apple has announce shiny new updates to its popular products on Wednesday from its live event in San Francisco. Every year, devoted Apple fans hotly anticipate this unveiling party, and this year was no different. Among the updated devices that Apple is expected to announce are the Apple TV, the iPad, and, of course, the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus. Customers clamoring for the latter two will undoubtedly wonder, "Will the iPhone 6S have a new charger?" Fortunately, you won't need to get a new charger, but there's a fetching new option should you choose to charge in style.
The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will still use the same Lightning charging cable that Apple customers have been using since the launch of the iPhone 5, which feels like decades ago (anything before the iPhone 6 qualifies as vintage, right?). In fact, besides the plethora of jaw-dropping new technology and features that the iPhone 6S will debut (live photos? is that wizardry?), the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will have the same configurations as its predecessors.
So, phew, you won't need to spend any extra dough on a new charger, unless of course yours has seen better days or you lose your cable at Starbucks for the 15th time. However, if you have a few extra bucks laying around and you're sick of untangling your charger cord every time you want to use it, there's an alternative — and much more chic — option for charging your new iPhone 6S or 6S Plus.
The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will be released alongside new charging docks that match the four colors of the new models, which are silver, gold, space grey, and the luxurious and covetable rose gold aluminum finish. And if you're a true maverick or daredevil, then you can make your own rules and mix and match your phone with a different-colored charging dock. After all, if Apple has taught us anything, it's to never be complacent. Always push the boundaries!
The new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6s Plus are available for pre-order on Saturday, Sept. 12, and will be available Sept. 25.
