Need more proof that Beyoncé is the official queen of the entire music industry? Read these numbers and weep, non-believers: According to MTV, Beyoncé's new album is on track to be one of the biggest debuts of 2013, and is estimated to have sold anywhere between 550,000 and 600,000 copies as of last night. In other words: By the time all is said and done, this new self-titled album may sell more than Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus's new albums combined if sales continue the way they are, and that's with no promotion at all.
As Billboard reports, the rapid sales of Bey's new album may result in her biggest debut ever by the time the charts are officially calculated, giving her her fifth consecutive number one debut, as well as the most album release sales since her second album, B'Day, sold 541,000 copies in 2006. If Bey's album keeps flying off the virtual shelves as it has been since its surprise release this past Friday, it could also be the biggest debuting album by a female artist ever, since Taylor Swift's Red sold 1.2 million in Nov. 2012.
I think the best way to both end this story and sum it all up is with this one, genius, completely accurate GIF of something that I can guarantee probably happened in real life:
...and one more, for good measure:
You heard the woman.
